Marlowe's on Sat. after the Giant's Game

Jonathan's (my 2nd son) back in town from Shanghai, China for a 2 week visit. Since he's been here we've been eating, eating, eating & going to see the Giants (our fav team!)...well, they lost yesterday & thankfully we had reservations at Marlowe (so we could "drown" out our sorrows!!!!). Yes, the highlight & bright spot of our day was dining here, which is one of the newest restaurant to be on Michael Bauer's Top 100 list...the food was fabulous & I'm planning to go back soon!

We started off with drinks.
Left: Ginger Beer for Andrew
Center: Floctail (Floc, Cherry, Citrus, Soda) for me
Right: Victorian lemonade for Jonathan
We started off with this "snack" while waitng for our appetizers to arrive:
Crispy Brussels Spout Chips w/ lemon & sea salt
(This was delicous & I highly recommend this!!!!)

The 1st appetizer:Warm Marinated Mussels & Monterey Calamari,
with grilled country bread & green garlic aioli
(This was also good & I would get this when I come back!)
Little Gem Salad, with avocado, market vegetables & citrus vinaigrette
Brandon ordered this to go with his entree & we all sampled it...also very good!
2nd Appetizer: Roasted Bone Marrow, with salsa verde & fine herbs.
(If you like Bone Marrow, then you MUST order this...it was rich & DELICIOUS!!!!)
Last Appetizer: Baked Oysters, New England chowder in a shell.
(I normally like eating my oysters raw, but this was sooo good I definately would
order this when I go back!!!)
Marlowe Burger with carmelized onions, cheddar, bacon, horseradish aioli & fries
Both Brandon & Jonathan ordered this for their entree. I didn't try it but they both
liked it. This is Brandon's 2nd visit & his 2nd Marlowe burger so I think it
must be good!!!
Anson Mills Polenta with wild mushrooms, truffled pecorino & poached farm egg
Andrew's choice for his entree. I had a taste & loved it!!!
Grilled Niman Pork Chop with spinach & ricotta bread pudding, proscuitto & parmesan cream
Gil's entree choice. I wanted to have a taste of this but I was too stuffed & wanted to
finish my own entree!!...next time!)
Dungeness Crab & Rock Shrimp Louie with gem lettuce, eggs mimosa & Tabasco
My entree choice & what a good choice (if I do say so myself!!!) This is a make
your own lettuce cups with crab & shrimp...delish!
DESSERTS!!!!! Don't ever, ever skip the dessert, especially when you eat here!
Left: Lemon Souffle Cake
Right: Upside Down Peach Crisp
(The perfect ending to a perfect dinner!!!!! )

Since it's so close to AT&T ballpark, it's a perfect place to go. I highly recommend Marlowe!

Yours truly, Karen!
