I had a lot of strawberries that a friend had given us so I decided my project for the day would be to make fresh strawberry tarts and pies. It is made with Pate Sucre a sweet pie crust made with lots of butter. You could also use a sugar cookie dough. After blind baking the crust I throw on some chocolate chips while the crust is still hot and spread the melted chocolate over the bottom of the crust. It helps to keep the crust from getting soggy. There is a cream
cheese/Grand Marnier filling : 8oz cream cheese, 1Tbsp Grand Marnier, 3Tbsp sugar,1/2 tsp vanilla. Blend all the ingredients together and pour into the cooled pie crust. Then fresh
strawberries on top. I brushed the berries with melted seedless strawberry jam to give it a nice gloss. Easy and yummy. You could serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
