Sunday late afternoon, end of spring break & Andrew's headed back to UCD. Since I worked the whole weekend, I didn't feel like cooking so we decided to go out & Andrew found this cute little "hole-in-the-wall" restaurant in South San Francisco to try. Even though the menu was small & limited, everything we ordered was GOOD! There was also plenty of action while we were there...lot's of take-out orders & people coming & going.
216 Cypress Ave. |
Spicy Beef Tendon (Thinly sliced, spicy & very aromatic...I loved it!) |
Five Spiced Marinated Beef (This is served cold & also very good) |
Garlic String Beans (Loved it!) |
Shrimp Dumplings with Green Chives (Freshly made...we watched them make it at the next table!) |
Shanghai Soup Dumpling (This tasted just like the ones we ate when we were in Shanghai!) |
Ma Po Tofu Noodle (The noodles are also house-made & it was GOOD!) |
We decided Dumpling Empire is now our new hang-out...the prices are good & you get plenty to eat.
Hope to see you there!
Yours truly, Karen
