Can you believe I have been without an oven since December 30, 2011? It's been a very difficult 2 months not being able to bake, broil or roast...My previous oven was a GE Monogram double convection oven that I had "inherited" from my good friends & after several years of a lot of good use, it died. I definitely wanted to get another double convection oven, but with so many choices on the market, it was a difficult decision as to which one to buy...after much thought, consideration & research we made our choice & here it is!!!! Thermador MED272ES!!!! Isn't it beautiful???
My shiny new Thermador double convection oven |
It took me 12 minutes to bake 3 dozen cookies all at once. I used the Speed Convection mode to bake these cookies. |
And, here's the finished product...it's the 1st time I'm trying this recipe & they came out perfect! |
Double Chocolate-Chip Cookies, makes 3 doz.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup milk-chocolate chips
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Directions:
~Heat oven to 350.
~ Cream butter & sugars well, then add the egg & vanilla.
~Sift together the flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, & salt. Add to the butter mixture. Mix well.
~Fold in the chocolate chips. Form the dough into 1 1/2" balls, place on parchment-lined baking sheets 2" apart.
~Bake until the centers are just set, about 12 min. Let cool on sheets for 5 min, then transfer to wire racks.
I just love, love this oven...at first it looked intimidating to use but it wasn't. This oven has a lot of features, one being a "Dehydrator"& I'm anxious to use this feature.
My next venture will be testing the convection roast mode...
Happy baking & roasting everyone!!!
Yours truly, Karen

great oven! I wish I had room for a double oven, but I'd have to give up too much cabinet space and I don't have enough space as it is!! I'll have to try the cookies.
