Dining at Spring Training in Phoenix & Scottsdale, AZ

Football is over and now it's Baseball Season!!! Yeah! This year Gil & I had the opportunity to go to spring training in Phoenix & Scottsdale, AZ. We were there almost 20 years ago & things certainly has changed...for the better! So many great restaurants to choose from. Unfortunately, our stay was too short for us to be able to try more restaurants..but that's ok, because we'll be back next year!
Our 1st game was at the Surprise Stadium where the Giants were the visiting team against the Rangers (Giants won this game!). I checked out the food there & it was so much more affordable than at At&T...of course they didn't have the variety but it was definitely less costly!

Monster Hot Dog (1 foot) at $6.50 and combo onion rings & coke for $5!

Here are the other offerings...look at the prices!!!!

Went for lunch at Lo-Lo's for chicken & waffles in Scottsdale the next day before our next game. Sorry I didn't take any pictures of the chicken & waffle...this place is definitely a must go-back! The waffles were the best~thin with a hint of cinnamon...I saw someone make a "sandwich" of their waffle with the fried chicken so I copied him...best idea ever! The fried chicken was cooked to perfection...moist, crispy & juicy! Of course I had to have room for their famous heavenly dessert~

Red Velvet Cake
Ok, so by the time we went to Scottsdale Stadium for the evening game where the Giants hosted the San Diego Padres (which they unfortunately lost to...), we were still full from our lunch at Lo-Lo's! Scottsdale Stadium, home of the Giants is a beautiful stadium with more food choices...at least they have garlic fries!
Here, Stir-Fried Noodles is made to order...looked good...will have to try it next time!
Sorry this is blurry, but just want to show the prices here...still more affordable than  in SF

We had the best Sunday Brunch at Rita's Kitchen located at JW Marriott Spa & Resort. The variety of food presented was incredible...handmade tortilla, roasted leg of lamb, grilled filet Mignon, seared sea scallops, just to name a few. The dessert bar was equally outstanding...I was so full but I managed to squeeze in a key lime tart & sampled fruits dipped in their white chocolate fountain. A French chef was standing by waiting to make crepe Suzette if you desired!

After the win against the Rangers we went to White Chocolate Grill in Scottsdale. I was still full from the foot-long hot dog so we ate in the bar & was in time for Happy Hour. I will have to go back next year & eat in the restaurant...the menu looked good...but what was on the menu during happy hour was good!

Pulled Pork Sliders (back) & 3 different Burger Sliders

This is their signature dessert~ White Chocolate Banana Cream Pie with Caramel Sauce on a chocolate chip nut crust!
Our cocktails! White chocolate martini (left) for me & beer for Gil
That's it! Looking forward to going back next year...but looking even more forward to the new season...Go Giants!!!!!

Yours truly, Karen!
