SEARED TUNA with ORANGE,AVOCADO AND CILANTRO SALSA

I found, well actually Charlie found this recipe in a news letter from his opthalmologist.  He handed it to me and said this sounds good.  Tuna is good for your eyes.  It did sound good so I made it and it was very good.
To the left are some of the basic ingredients.. a very easy recipe.
Marinade:
1Tbs olive oil
1-2 cloves garlic
2Tbs lemon juice
Mix olive oil, garlic and lemon juice in a shallow pan or dish.
You will need 4-4oz tuna steaks- sushi grade
Marinate the tuna steaks in the marinade for up to an hour.

 Orange Avocado and Cilantro Salsa

1/3C minced red onion
2 oranges peeled, seeded and cubed
1/4C chopped cilantro
juice of 1 lime
salt and pepper to taste.
Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl, cover and refrigerate for up to an hour.

Orange,Avocado, Cilantro Salsa

Sear tuna in a skillet over medium high heat. Cook 2 minutes per side for medium rare.
Spoon Salsa over and serve.

This was a great dinner.. it would work equally as well with  salmon which is a little less expensive than the tuna.  We got to eating so I forgot to take a picture of the plated dish.
