Tod Taylor Wines

September 18 and 19 Tod Taylor Winery had a release party for it's wine club members. The new wines were the 2009 Blue House Primovito,2009 Morrison Lane Pinot Noir,2008 Reserve Pinot Noir. The food pairing was Vegetarian Risotto and Beef Bourguignon

This is a quick summary of the characteristics of a couple of the wines that were offered.
"The 2009 Blue House Primovito has the aroma of Chocolate, blackberry and the fruit of cherry and and boysenberries. It is aged 12 months in American Oak. It can be enjoyed now or cellar up to 8 years.

The 2009 Morrison Lane Pinot Noir has the aroma of Cherry, Vanilla and Blackberry. The fruit of cherry and raspberry. Aged 12 months in French Oak. Enjoy now or cellar up to 12 years."

Our table mates were long time members of the wine club and knew all the ins and outs of trying wines that were not on the tasting list. We were given a secret password to get a taste of the Sangiovese. We were also told to try the Tempranillo. They also had a barrel tasting of their 2008 Clocksping Vineyards and one other Zinfandel that I can't remember the name of.

We had a great time, made new friends and will be looking forward to the next event.

I love Todd's wines too! They're so robust.
