3 Days in Vegas

Day 1
Arrived in Vegas in the early afternoon.. my mission was to eat at some of the world class restaurants there. After we checked our bags with the bell desk at Bally's we were on a search for lunch. I had made up a list of restaurants that I wanted to try. Since we were just across the street from Caesar's we thought we'd try Joe's Stone Crab.. but after walking all around Caesar's- and it is HUGE we couldn't find it. Instead we happened on Mesa Grill.. Ya! We'd eaten there a few years back for dinner and it was great so we were thrilled it was open, since it was Sunday they were still serving their brunch menu. Charlie had his usual Margarita and I had their White Peach Margarita.. very good. Charlie had the Barbecued Lamb Cob Salad and I had the Mesa Burger. The salad looked good and it got rave reviews from Charlie. The Mesa Burger was the best burger I've ever had! Bobby Flay lived up to his reputation for his burgers, it was simple but so delicious. It was a great lunch.

White Peach Margarita

Barbecued lamb cob salad:Avocado, tomato,Cabrales Blue cheese, Bacon, Buttermilk dressing

Mesa Burger- Double Cheddar Cheese, Grilled Vidalia Onions, Horseradish mustard, Southwestern fries

After lunch we walked back to Bally's and checked into our room and took a nap!
It was a much needed nap too. Our dinner that night was not until 9:45pm. I made all of our dinner reservations late since eating lunch makes both of us so full that there would be no way to eat dinner at a normal dinner hour. The restaurant is located at The Palazzo which is part of The Venetian. It is located in the shopping plaza, with it's beautiful shops which we walked around and looked at since we had a couple of hours to kill. Before dinner we stopped by Delmonico's, Emeril's restaurant just for drinks. It is directly across from B&B our destination. Delmonico's has a open airy lounge/bar area that can easily be accessed from the walkway. We settled in and had a couple of drinks, it is a very nice relaxed atmosphere.

We decided to see if we could get into dinner earlier than our reservation time. Tonight our meal was going to be at B&B Risorante.. the restaurant of Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich and it is also a certified Green restaurant. We were indeed able to get in about an hour early and were promptly seated. It is a gorgeous restaurant, elegant with dark wood and it is said to be modeled after Babo the famous restaurant in NY. Though elegant it is not stuffy but very comfortable and relaxing making for great ambiance.
Here are a few pictures of our meal.

Chickpea Crostini amuse bouche

our appetizer- Calamari and Seppi Fritti

Duck with Grilled Plums and Bitter Almonds

Fennel Dusted Sweetbreads with Sweet and Sour Onions,Duck Bacon and Membrillo Vinegar

Everything was spot on from the service which was attentive but not intrusive, the food as would be expected was beautifully prepared and delicious.. It was everything you would expect. You will find me saying this a lot since all of our meals were exceptional.
After dinner we walked about a little more to walk off some of the calories then headed back to Bally's for a night cap and listening to the lounge act who were actually very good. Better get rest for another day. I have to apologize for the lack of quality on some of these pictures.. I don't use a flash and the restaurant is fairly dim so I did the best I could editing them.
