POOR BABY LAMB

Well, tonight I took a cooking class the Co-op with Litsa (her last name is just too hard). It was an Armenian cooking class. The Armenian people eat a lot of lamb as does the Middle East and surrounding areas. Here we were prepping for the class, cutting up tomatoes, onions, etc. We also were grinding up lamb. In the middle of making ground lamb here comes Julia with these pictures taken at Soil Born Farms of cute little lambs. We all thought the pictures were cute of course but how can you not feel guilty about grinding up pieces of lamb while looking at these adorable pictures! Then we wondered if these lamb were being raised for meat or were just pets or what. Well, we still ground up the lamb and made Lahmajoun (pizza with ground lamb) and it was delicious. Julia had put these cute little lamb pictures up on the bulletin board, but I don't think any of the other students noticed. No, it's not going to make me a vegetarian but you can't help but feel sorry for the lambs fate... Oh and this particular lamb even had a name! She was named Lentil. I think she will be a pet, you can't possibly slaughter something with a name!
